What we know

The EHR path has two surfaces: authorized patient context inside ChatGPT, and ChatGPT inside the EHR layout in supported deployments. The integration is designed as read-only review of notes, labs, medications and specialist documentation, inheriting existing permissions. OpenAI says physicians rated 99.1% of responses safe across 4,363 ratings and 27 clinical use cases, and more than 93% of answers as good or better on five connected public sources. Eligible U.S. ChatGPT for Clinicians users can install the public-data plugin; the EHR integration is not available on individual accounts. What we still do not know

OpenAI does not list every one of the nine public sources in the post. Write-back to the chart is not described and should not be assumed. Availability outside the United States, pricing, and the exact Epic versions supported are not in the announcement. The 99.1% safety figure is a physician rating of responses with connected context, not a claim of diagnostic accuracy.

Why it matters

This is an enterprise product move, not a new frontier model. It puts ChatGPT closer to the systems hospitals already trust, with BAA and audit logs.
