On CyberGym, the industry's primary benchmark for evaluating how AI systems reason over large codebases to find real world vulnerabilities, MAI-Cyber-1-Flash running inside MDASH, Microsoft's new multi agent scanning system, scored 95.95%, about 12 points above Anthropic's best performing model on the test, according to TheHackerNews. CyberGym comprises 1,507 real vulnerability reproduction tasks drawn from 188 open source projects.

Half the Cost of Leading Models

According to VentureBeat and Seeking Alpha, MAI-Cyber-1-Flash outperforms models from Anthropic, Google and OpenAI on CyberGym, and the combination with MDASH delivers world class security performance at 50% of the cost of previous leading offerings, including Microsoft's own earlier products.

Microsoft's stated goal is for MAI-Cyber-1-Flash to handle most routine security work, roughly 90% of tasks, freeing more expensive general purpose models for the hardest cases, according to TheHackerNews.
