What we know

Grok 4.6 shipped on August 12 on a 1.5T base. Musk had already said 4.7 would be a larger 2.1T pretrain, slightly slower to serve, more token-efficient, with extra training on SpaceX engineering data. Those architecture claims come from earlier Musk posts, not from today's 10-day tweet. What we still do not know

There is no model ID, price, context window, API changelog or system card for 4.7. "Will beat every current model" is Musk's claim, not a benchmark. A 10-day Elon window has slipped before. Grok 5 is a different, later story.

Why it matters

If it lands on time, xAI keeps a roughly monthly cadence against Fable 5.1 and whatever Google does with Flash. Do not migrate production off 4.6 on a tweet. Wait for the slug and a real eval. Teams that care about engineering/agents should watch the drop; hype about beating Fable 5.1 is still a hypothesis.
